About the programme
The Media Anthropology and Film Practices programme is a multidisciplinary initiative designed to explore the intersection of visual anthropology, ethnographic research, and creative filmmaking. Its primary objective is to equip students with the skills to combine traditional and experimental ethnographic methods, such as participant observation and digital storytelling, into professional media outputs.
How it's structured
Like every BIP, it's blended: an online phase you complete from home, then an intensive physical week abroad.
Phase 1 · Online
Collaborate from home
- The curriculum includes introductory online lectures on visual and multimodal anthropology and hands-on technical tutorials for media production equipment. Furthermore, students engage in preliminary discussions on field projects, focusing on project design and essential ethical considerations to ensure they are fully prepared for the immersive ethnographic work in Cyprus
